Sims 4 spellcaster cheats

One trait command makes a Sim a spellcaster. The rank, the bloodline and each spell are separate commands.

Turn a Sim into a spellcaster
Switch cheats on
Open the console, enter testingcheats true, then click the Sim.
Run the trait command
Enter traits.equip_trait trait_Occult_WitchOccult. The spells stay locked, so unlock them next.
What the trait does not give the Sim
The Sim becomes a spellcaster at the lowest rank with no spells, no bloodline and no talent points. Each of those is its own command, and they are all in the table below.
Practical, Mischief and Untamed magic are not skills, so no stats.set_skill_level form of them exists. Rank is the thing to set instead.

Bloodlines
A Sim carries one bloodline at a time, so remove the old one before adding another.

Unlock spells
Twenty-seven spells, nine per school, and no command that unlocks them all at once. Familiars have no cheat either, so the workaround is to find the object in Build and Buy.

Talent points and perks
Perks come from the three talent categories, Alchemy, Prowess and Spellcasting, plus a general group. Look the Sim ID up first.

Charge and curses
Charge builds as a Sim casts. Let it run too high and the Sim overloads, which is where most curses come from.

Unlock spells one at a time
Familiars, and the talent perk syntax
Run bb.showhiddenobjects to put the familiar objects in Build and Buy, place one, then bind it in game. The full Build mode command list is on the Build mode cheats page.
Talent perks need the numeric Sim ID and the spellcaster tree number, which is 49153. One guide prints 49513 instead, which is a transposed digit rather than the spellcaster tree.
Add and lift curses
The charge freeze, the curse names, and how sure they are
sims.add_buff buff_WitchOccult_LockCharge holds the magical charge still, which is what stops a Sim overloading. Two guides put the freeze at four hours; EA documents none of it.
Names one guide lists include TouchyFeely, HexofDuelist, InfectiousLaughter, NightStalker, Repulsiveness, WildMagic, SweatyStench, FountainOfMagic and PunchableFace.
Only that guide lists them, so some may be spelled differently in your game. If a name is rejected, that is the likely reason rather than curses being uncheatable.

Is there a cheat to unlock all spells at once?
No. Every source unlocks them one at a time with spells.unlock_spell, and there are twenty-seven spells across the three schools. A bulk unlock needs a third-party mod, and potions work the same way.
How do you set a spellcaster bloodline?
Bloodlines are traits: trait_Occult_WitchOccult_BloodlineWeak, …BloodlineStrong or …BloodlineAncient after traits.equip_trait. A Sim carries one at a time, so remove the old one before adding another.
Can you cheat a curse on or off?
Curses are traits, so traits.equip_trait trait_Curses_<Name> is the pattern. Only one guide prints the names clearly, so expect to try a spelling or two. Right-clicking a curse with the UI Cheats Extension removes it without a command.
