Turn a Sim into a vampire
Switch cheats on
Open the console, enter testingcheats true, then click the Sim.
Turn the Sim, then set the rank
Enter traits.equip_trait trait_OccultVampire. Set the rank stat next; new vampires start at the bottom.
The slow bite, and the number two guides disagree on
stats.set_stat commodity_BecomingVampire 2160 starts the multi-day transformation rather than finishing it. Lower numbers stretch it out: 2100 turns the Sim in about an hour, 1441 in about twelve, 721 in about a day and 1 in about a day and a half.
Sims Online prints 160 in place of the 2160 ladder. Three other guides give 2160, so that is the number in the table. If 2160 does nothing in your game, 160 is the one to try next.

Turn a Sim into a vampire
The trait flips the Sim at once. The stat gives you the slow version: 2100 turns them in about an hour, 1441 in about twelve, 721 in about a day and 1 in about a day and a half.

The bucks commands all need the Sim ID, so look that up first and copy the number the console prints.

Where these numbers come from
Four guides publish the same five thresholds and EA publishes none of them, so treat the rank names as certain and the numbers as very likely. The stat is rankedStatistic_Occult_VampireXP, and the full command for each rank is in the table above.
Setting the stat lower than the Sim's current value drops the rank rather than refusing, so it works as a downgrade too.
Powers and power points
If a bucks command does nothing
Several guides report that bucks.* perk commands stopped working on recent patches unless a cheat-restoring mod is installed, because a patch tightened up some console commands. Nobody has confirmed that on the current patch, so treat it as the reason people give rather than as a fact.
The reliable way round it is the mod: right-click a power in the perk panel and it unlocks, no Sim ID and no tree number involved.
The three aspiration reward traits
These come from the Vampire aspirations. Every source prints them without the trait_ prefix that the rest of the site's trait commands carry, so they are listed the way the sources give them. The prefixed spelling may also work.
